2018 Audi TT-RS

The centerpiece of the Forged Signature Collection is this yellow mk3 TT-RS. TTs have always been a passion of mine, I have never gone more than a year or two without one. Yellow is my preferred color for almost any vehicle. That made finding this TT-RS in Vegas Yellow quite lucky(even though I had just bought a Vegas Yellow TT 2 weeks prior).

I wasn’t actually looking for a car when I stumbled upon the listing at a Kia dealer in Ohio. That did not stop me from paying a deposit as soon as they opened the next day. I picked it up as soon as my schedule allowed me to make the drive. Upon pickup, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the car had already been modified a bit. Unfortunately, it had been wrapped and removed, and there were remnants that needed to be cleaned up. Neuspeed RSE10’s in black, along with H&R springs were already on the car.

The car actually had a nice stance from the day I picked up. But I knew that air ride would take it to the next level. I went with Maxload air struts because they were on sale and I wanted to try something new. For management, I already had an Airlift 3p from an old build. I also had an Accuair Endo 3 gallon tank from an old build, that we made custom brackets to mount it that also would support the trunk floor(sold here). We hate loose air ride controllers, so we made a mount that fits perfectly in the center console(sold here).

It would be a real shame to have an RS car and not do some performance mods and honestly the easiest way to describe all that has been done is in a list;

Unitronic Stage 2 flex fuel ecu tune
Unitronic tcu tune
Unitronic MPI Injectors
Unitronic Intercooler
Unitronic 4″ Turbo Inlet
SillyRabbit LPFP
AWE Track Edition Exhaust

Bar-Tek Intake Manifold
Bar-Tek Throttle Body Inlet
034 Downpipe
034 engine & trans mounts
Snow Performance Stg3 WMI
Eventuri Intake System
Velt Coilpacks

Unfortunately, I did get bitten by the carbon fiber bug and went a little crazy. The most obvious is the huge Audi Iconic style spoiler, which I originally bought with carbon fiber mounts but switched out to aluminum. I also went with side skirts and a rear diffuser that were based on the Iconic TT-RS, both from RSIc6. But, for the front splitter I went with something a little different, a 3pc setup that can be found on ebay. I capped off my carbon fiber spending with a fuel door and some eyebrows/canards, also from RSIc6.

After owning the TT-RS I came to realize that doing launches, 1/4 mile runs, and highway pulls were fun. The problem is the car is already too powerful andI really didn’t want to go any further power wise, so i decided to go another route, weight loss. The El Tributo wheels, while forged, are not particularly light. So I designed The Claw, based on Porsche’s lobster claw wheel, but taking it further making the strongest lightweight design I could come up with. And then took it even further and made them out of magnesium bringing the weight down to about 14lbs(per wheel). The factory brakes are also great, but huge. So I ditched those for ProdigyWerks 356mm FS6 . With the wavy rs7 rotors on the rear, I decided to make my own wavy rotors for this setup.
